【Trip】~~9days Tour Around Taiwan~~ Day1&2: Eat all we can from south!

As I studied in a chinese independant school, Taiwan is always a place I fond of since secondary school. This trip was a sudden decision when Min found out the special discount promotion by Scoot airline,Sgd24 from Sg to Taiwan. We made a quick decision and decided to fly on 30th Oct. Since I have to go back for AFASG2013, my return flight is on a day before the event. Luckily there was the promotion on such a good timing~~

I arrived earlier on 29th Oct to Changi airport to grab the chance of Gintama Movie~ There is this left luggage service at tge airport that allowed passengers that store luagge with a quite reasonable price. I left my luggage there and rush for the 4.30pm movie at The Cathay nearby Dhoby Ghaut MRT station. The movie was a nice one but I over expected it. A little dissapointed but still love it somehow. My Zura sama still fit my taste the most/////

Later around that night I met up with Min and her mum for dinner. We went straight to airport after the meal. We waited like 4hours at the airport charging my phone and chitchating until we were called on board.

The flight took about 4 hours to reach Taipei at Taoyuan international airport. Very nice flight indeed!! Comfortable seats' polite flight attendant and smooth trip. Quite a luxury flight for a economic airline~~

Day 1- Taoyuan - Gaoshiong

When we reached early morning, it was like 20 degrees there. Quite a cold temperature for people like us from Malaysia. I was surprise with the bright sky as well, Bthe 6am in Taiwan is like 7.30am in Malaysia.

Initially, Min's friend was supposed to meet us up at the airport but couldn't make it in the end hence we meet her up in Gaoshiong instead. There are scheduled buses from the airport to the bullet train station cost abour twd30 per person. I met this charming Argentina guy that was going to the same destination, hence I picked him up with us along the trip. We reached the station in like less than 20minutes.

Our destination is at the southest city of Taiwan, which is the last terminal of the train service Zuoying station, cost about twd1445 for the trip. Quite expensive for me as I didnt bring much cash with me and wasnt expecting to buy anything in the first place. It was quite fast though. We reached gaoshiong in one and and a half hours.

We met up with Huahua, Min's taiwanese friend that will guide us through our tour here in Taiwan. She and her aunt picked us up from the train station. We said goodbye with that Argentina guy while Huahua directed him to the bus service to downtown area. He was indeed a lovely one ////

Our first stop started from Huahua's family house in Chaozhou. We almost met all of her family members. They are all so enthusiatics and humourous. Her grandma even cooked us real taiwanese style of food for lunch!! Delicious indeed!!

We left her family house in 3.30pm and go to her house in Gaoshiong city. After the harsh day of traveling, I almost slept death that evening. We were called up for dinner at her aunt house nearby. Another typical taiwanese meal, with the famous Gingered Duck and Minced pork with rice.Very tasty and homely. It is always nice to have homecooked food ~~

Day2 - Gaoshiong - Tainan

We woke up early that morning, prep ourselves and travel to tainan with Hua
hua family. Its a day full with food again!

We started our breakfast with 'Bak wan', fist size meatball in a breakfast shop on a way to tainan. There's also 'Mi gao', we known as glutinous rice in Msia, and meatball soup. Breakfast itself its like a huge challenge for me already. I dont eat this much usually, but huahua cousin brother say it might be once and only chance to taste this , oh well, i am definitely stuffing myself for the day!!!

After the breakfast we go for ice. We parked a few street across the shop and walked to the shop. We definitely need some exercise before another meal in! We shared 2 types of ice, Fruit ice and honey lemon ice, toufufa. Quite refreshing indeed.

We drop by a bakery for huahua's aunt to buy some biscuits. It is the first time i ever taste so different texture of biscuits. Some soft like cake but its biscuits, some harder than usual biscuits. I liked the one that look like macarons but not macarons. Its slightly sweet with butter cream in it.

While walking back to the car, we happened to pass by a icecream seller. The ice cream is made of yam and taste quite nice. It wasnt quite pleasant as we were force to buy 4 when we asked for only one.
=(

We went for the oyster roll for our lunch. Since i have mild seafood allergy, i didnt taste the oyster or prawns. But i had minced meat rice again, though i still prefered aunt's cooking//////.

Later on we went for taufufa again. This is quite a famous shop in Anping. We ordered 3 flavors, including original, greenbean, and redbean. I prefered the greenbean flavor, slightly sweeter than the others. I dont really eat taufufa in malaysia as i think it tasted weird, but i think Taiwan's taufufa tasted different and better than in msia.. i enjoyed this alot!~

We set back to gaoshiong after this as we were too full for any food anymore! We did dropby to packed some pudding and herbal egg too. This was the first time i had spicy herbal egg and it tasted ao awesome!!!! I havent yet taste the pudding we bought from Elate. It does look attractive but i am not sure if it taste as good~ We rested for a few hours at home and went to huahua aunt's house for dinner again. Well i can say she is a very good cook! Its very delicious that i just cant stop eating and bloated myself again!

Later that night we went 7-11, one of the must go destination! The 7-11 in malaysia is just so not how a convenient store should be. Though i would really like to have 'Guan dong zhu' and bento in 7-11 but i was too full to eat anything. The one thing i liked about here would be the points system to exchange for special merchandises. This season is onepiece pen. Since its randomly picked, i got Franky. but i liked brook more#/// will try again if i go 7-11 again~

【Food】One Piece Bistro Cafe

I was having a trip to Kangkar Pulai a few days ago to meet up with Min, stayed at her house for a few days while having fun in Johor and Singapore.

When mentioned about Skudai, as an OP-maniac, this bistro cafe would be the must that shouldn't be missed out. This One Piece Bistro Cafe located in Taman Sutera Utama in Skudai, Johor, was one and the only anime-themed restaurant in Malaysia. The entrance itself is already a big attraction, with huge poster of Straw-hat Pirates team~

Decorations in the shop are considered quite awesome. I think they were trying to create the olden bar-type atmosphere here, with all OP related deco, and figurines. Though Min did commented that she was disappointed as she was expecting a team of luffy serving us instead =w= ( i think it would be so awesome, if the waiters were all dressed up like luffy //////)

Love the figurines there, OP Z film////

I was not expecting much on the taste of their food for theme restaurant, wasn't surprise to find the food to taste so so. I ordered Volcano Spicy Ramen, well it tasted like normal hawker center ramen. Not spicy to my expectation. Min order for Sanji's special, Black Pepper Chicken Chop. The serving was quite small. Though I like the chicken a lot, much tender and soft.

I like those cups a lot, mine with Nami on it while Min's with Zoro.

They were doing this special offer from 12pm- 3pm, a free drinks with any main dish order.

Overall services were quite good, food so so, but decorations were quite awesome
Rated ☆☆☆

Its a worth a try restaurant~ Do visit if happen to pass-by Sutera Mall =w=

【Food】Eat all you can : SUKI-YA @ Paradigm Mall

Last weekend, when I went back to KL, my mate brought me to this Suki-Ya, eat all you can sukuyaki and shabu shabu. That was my first time having sukiyaki (well, the japanese style) , its a lot like our steamboat here in Malaysia. There is two outlet of Suki-Ya, one in Pavillion mall in Bukit Bintang area, another outlet, which is also the one that I went to, is in the newly established Paradigm Mall in Petaling Jaya.

Like stated up there, its eat-all-you-can type of buffet sukiyaki & shabu shabu. The design of the shop were quite japan-ish, reminds me of Jogoya in Star Gallery. ^^

There are mainly four types of soup, kimchi, miso, shabu shabu and sukiyaki. We chose kimchi and miso, which I think would taste the best among the four. There is 3 choices of meat, chicken, beef and mutton, which will be served and refillable. Others are on the free-flow table.

One of the best thing here, is the variety choices of mushrooms. At least, this was the first hot pot I experienced that served all kinds of mushroom. ( Mushrooms are very expensive !). Quite some variety of sauces available as well, but i still thick that it lacked of the sweet sauce. It would taste better with that =3=.

Well, its around RM30++ per person for two hours ( this is lunch time). Quite worth it, when for the past two hours, all we could think is to finish up the 6 plates of meat... we were served 3 plates of chicken and mutton each ( I don't eat beef), which I find it being very bored at the last plate. Well, I am not a huge-eater, so its more than enough for me. For people that would eat as much as they served, its free flow anyway, just ask for more ^^. Ya, default drinks is green tea, hot or cold. Other beverages will be charged separately.

The last menu would be the ice-cream. There are 3 flavours, the rice-cracker, green tea and chocolate. I tried to make a cone ice-cream with the rice-cracker flavour, well it turns out to be like that ↓ .. Some saloon logo XDDD. It tasted alot like Goodday chocolate milk flavour.

As for the green tea, its was nice for the first bite, and tasted OMG bitter-ish... Well, at least I tried my best to eat the most I can, still leaving half of it.... pity and sad, and I though all green-based food were going to taste nice, it overthrown my belief all these while :(

Overall, rated 4 star ★★★★ for Suki-Ya @ Paradigm mall : nice food, nice place, reasonable price, nice servant ( good attitude and fast service ), a little bit more to keep up on the dessert.

Google for Suki-Ya @ Paradigm mall for more of their information~

【Event】13102012-141020122 - 2 Studio Cosplay Event + Molly's Graduation day

Its been a year since the last 2 studio Graduation Exhibition. It was Molly's turn this time, was happy for her that she finally going to graduate~~ 2 Studio Academy although was known to me only when I met Molly, the standard of the student's artwork were quite fascinating though. Especially this year, there were a few booth that caught my attention, one with DRRR! boxes designed and another with mostly Acrylic work.

Like last year, the cosplay event was hosted by LGCC, with some ACG merchandise booth and Cosplay competition. I was not there for most of the time, hence would not review anything about that.

It was a pleasure somehow to be able to attend Molly's graduation exhibition, despite I was not able to stay late until her graduation ceremony (,,゚Д゚). Still, congraz to Molly for her graduation.

I was doing Kuroko's Teiko school uniform version on the Sat. Well, don't mention anything about not going to do KuroBasu thing.... its like the 3rd plan this year.. OTL.... It was never in my plan to do Kuroko. Well, I was kind of pissed on my own not so firm personality when I was unsure of what characters to do... Molly just forcingly eagerly inviting me to do Kuroko's Teiko's version with her since she wanted to do Akashi badly. The whole costume belongs to Yuu though, I just get my pants and shoes ready. Still thanks to Yuu for that. I was extremely unsatisfy somehow, it didnt came out to my own expectation =3=.( I had a very fat face which i realized after Kuroko ). Should make sure to myself not to drop into any of the holes without well-preparations and sudden dragging = = I don't like my Kuroko, looked super serious when trying to look emotionless.

Kuroko Tetsuya @ Maro Ch
Akashi Seijiro @ Molly Eberwein

photo thx Sam

Lol... what can I say... OTL... Kuroko I still love you ....

Basically I still think my camwhoring looks better, with Pusheen here to lighten me up =3=
Ya, this Pusheen Plushie belongs to YR though, a goddamn OMG price, but very adorable, and fluffy and so nice to hug =/////////= (max shiawase mode).

This is the so excited look when me and Yuu saw Pusheen , Nyan~~(o゚ω゚o) Yuu commented we look so inhuman in this pic =w= but i still like it ~~

Kuroko fierce emotionless face and bun face =3=... with my fat face....

Well, the day somehow ended quite peacefully. We had our dinner at James Foo's Restaurant. Nice food with a very good price for western food. I had my Pork Cordon Bleu and Herbal tea. Tasted nice but still not as best as Chicken Cordon Bleu which Yuu had. Recommended place to have nice and economic western food.

Day 2 of the event was not much of excitement. Initially planned to do Lelouch, but was not in that confidence, ended up not cosplay on that day. Still the final round of the competition was held on the 2nd day. We later ended up watching Taken 2 in 1st Avenue. It was not as awesome as the prequel though =3=, but still considered nice movie.

We had out lunch at Shunka (旬香), 8th floor (the same floor as TGV cinema) . I liked the shop very much, very japan-ish ~ They were doing special lunch value set for weekdays and weekends. The food, well, quite ok, just normal, but quite a good pricing.

Lesson learn: Never ever agree to plan that is not meant to be planned ... OTL

【FOOD】Charlie Brown Cafe

Past two weeks, I finally got the chance to dine in Charlie Brown's Cafe for the very first time. Charlie Brown's Cafe is a theme coffee shop of Charlie Brown's comic, which we normally known  as Snoopy. I always wanted to try in that shop whenever I pass by it. It is located in Marina Mall, Straits Quay, 1st floor, at the very end of right hand side of the buildings ( not sure if its North or South Wing...) . (Penang, Malaysia)

I was surprised that it was quite empty at that time when we were there, around 6pm in the evening, it should either be time for high tea or dinner. Kind of at doubt to had my dinner there in the first place, but I still gave it a try, since it might be the first and last I'll ever dine in this shop.

Basically, the decoration and atmosphere of the shop were fine, delicate and sweet with Charlie Brown's and the friends and also snoopy decoration. I especially like those bronze doll a lot. First thing that I was not satisfy with is the menu. Well, it was a well-decorated shop, hence, I find the Menu to be not up to the standard, a PVC folder with self-printed kind of list. It was not that attractive and looks inappropriate somehow.

I had Mocha and Hawaiian pizza, while my mate had Hot Chocolate and Woodstock Black pepper chicken chop.

Food wise I would say, so so. My Hawaiian pizza was a disaster somehow, its either me or it really tasted bad. It was slices of ham with pineapple and mushroom in between two pieces of , hmm.. not pita bread, but something similar, more like not so cruchy crust. I was not sure what's wrong with that meal, but to me, the combination of that ingredients should never name as Hawaiian pizza...(= =). The chicken chop, well... there should not be anyway to make it taste bad anyway. The black pepper sauce was good, woodstock did not look really like woodstock, but tasted quite ok. I personally like the wedges a lot. Coffee was not up to my standard though, too sweet and was not aromatic enough, kind of like 3 in 1 coffee mix (= =). Hot chocolate, well.. I shouldn't judge by my own perspective for this, since, there was only once I ever tasted hot chocolate that meet my expectation, hence, no comment (=3=) [yesidunliekit].

The light on the ceiling
Overview of the ceiling

The good thing about the dishes were the decoration. The hot drinks especially, with the latte art of selective Charlie Brown's character, it made the drinks taste better. Mine with Snoopy on it while my mate with Woodstock on it.

Service wise, well, quite ok. Except the fact that I do not like the way they want us to pay ahead at the counter by ourselves then only serve us with the meals (=3=). I know normally, this is suppose to be the way for a caffe but.. this is Malaysia duh.....(lol... this is very personal XDDDD). Price wise, hmm.. yes, expensive, but since people nowadays do start to treat Starbucks like personal coffee maker, so it shouldn't be a burden though.

They had one souvenirs shop though, with quite some Charlie Brown's merchandises. Well, I suppose they should be genuine. Might get something for my sis for her coming birthday... hmm...
and... the tumbler here is cheaper than Starbucks'.... =3=. Quality or not, well that is something else to be investigated.

Conclusion, nice shop with nice deco, but not so nice food. It was quite comfortable if its for the sake of celebrating something, but not for having nice food.

How I wish I could have this set of Chess T^T
For those that wish to visit this shop, well, my suggestion would be to choose the most safest food, like chicken chop or fish and chips that will never taste bad and Happy Dining there~~
