【Trip】~ 9 days tour around Taiwan~ Day 3 : Finally bloated my stomach!

Day 3 - Kaohsiung - night market

Continuing the trip in Taiwan, we stayed back in Kaohsiung for the day.  We woke up quite late that morning after spending the previous night gossiping with Min till late night.

Our first meal started at a nearby breakfast stall, carrot cake, club sandwich, hashbrown and a cup of milk coffee. Quite ordinary breakfast but i love that club sandwich/// I cant finish up my coffee hence brought it with me to the next destination.

As huahua was not free that morning, her cousin bro brought us around the city. We went to this mall " Dreams mall" located in the center of the city. There is this ferris wheel on the roof of the shopping mall which I remember seeing it in a Taiwan drama/// ( dont remember the name though). They are having a 40years celebration for Hello Kitty with collectible points at most shops in the malls. It was pinkish and dreamy all over the mall because of this celebration. I came across this Pili doll merchandise shop which I had my first meet with a real pili doll in front of my eyes. No wonder people was fascinated with this, they are really delicate piece of art indeed!!

I dropped by the bookshop, "Chengpin bookstore" just to have a look on Taiwan bookstore. I wasnt expecting any spendings here as i have weigh limits and cash limits that don't allow too much of unnecessary expenses. I came out of the book store with 5 mangas with me in the end. OTL.........  since its the real publisher here in Taiwan, the books are genuine and much cheaper compare to Msia. I was going crazy there and picked out quite a number of books, but I managed to cut down to five in the end... I personally like Nakamura- sensei 's book very much. Her story always catches my heart///// bought two of her books, one which i had been looking for quite sometime while another is the sequel of the story. Others are just random pick of genre I  might liked //////

We strolled around the mall until about 3pm, i bought a box of facial mask which is on sales in SASA then we headed to another place for lunch.

The lunch is another big meal again. I initially just ordered "sour spicy soup" while Min ordered beef noodles. I supposed our choice of food was not local enough, the cousin bro added a few more dishes... it became a huge meal alas!!

We picked up Huahua from train station and headed to 'Xizi wan' for a walk after meal. Quite a long stairs up for the temple and britain embassy. We just took a few photos from above. There was this adorable flower icecream/// we shared one with mango flavor. Scenery of the bay was awesome as well//.

The next destination was an art street. There is an amazing steel container art at the entrance, but i didnt manage to capture the picture clearly. There are lots more of other sculpture arts, including huge size bumblebee////

We headed back to huahua house and rest for a while. We went out again to the night market around dream mall area. We took a bus there as there was quite a distance from huahua house. It is a combination of two night market, the " Kai Xuan" and "Jing zhuan", just besides the Gold Silver Mall.  Its quite a huge area with all kinds of food stalls, cloths and games. I had stuffed myself with so much food... which eventually ended up throwing all food out ... it should be the last spicy smelly taufu that made me lost the appetite.... but its really tasty/////

We spent around 2 hours in the night market, we reached home around 12.30. I was kinda surprised that the operating hours was until very late night. When we left around that area, the place was still with alot of people.

I packed up my bags that night as we would left for Kenting the next day.

【Trip】~~9days Tour Around Taiwan~~ Day1&2: Eat all we can from south!

As I studied in a chinese independant school, Taiwan is always a place I fond of since secondary school. This trip was a sudden decision when Min found out the special discount promotion by Scoot airline,Sgd24 from Sg to Taiwan. We made a quick decision and decided to fly on 30th Oct. Since I have to go back for AFASG2013, my return flight is on a day before the event. Luckily there was the promotion on such a good timing~~

I arrived earlier on 29th Oct to Changi airport to grab the chance of Gintama Movie~ There is this left luggage service at tge airport that allowed passengers that store luagge with a quite reasonable price. I left my luggage there and rush for the 4.30pm movie at The Cathay nearby Dhoby Ghaut MRT station. The movie was a nice one but I over expected it. A little dissapointed but still love it somehow. My Zura sama still fit my taste the most/////

Later around that night I met up with Min and her mum for dinner. We went straight to airport after the meal. We waited like 4hours at the airport charging my phone and chitchating until we were called on board.

The flight took about 4 hours to reach Taipei at Taoyuan international airport. Very nice flight indeed!! Comfortable seats' polite flight attendant and smooth trip. Quite a luxury flight for a economic airline~~

Day 1- Taoyuan - Gaoshiong

When we reached early morning, it was like 20 degrees there. Quite a cold temperature for people like us from Malaysia. I was surprise with the bright sky as well, Bthe 6am in Taiwan is like 7.30am in Malaysia.

Initially, Min's friend was supposed to meet us up at the airport but couldn't make it in the end hence we meet her up in Gaoshiong instead. There are scheduled buses from the airport to the bullet train station cost abour twd30 per person. I met this charming Argentina guy that was going to the same destination, hence I picked him up with us along the trip. We reached the station in like less than 20minutes.

Our destination is at the southest city of Taiwan, which is the last terminal of the train service Zuoying station, cost about twd1445 for the trip. Quite expensive for me as I didnt bring much cash with me and wasnt expecting to buy anything in the first place. It was quite fast though. We reached gaoshiong in one and and a half hours.

We met up with Huahua, Min's taiwanese friend that will guide us through our tour here in Taiwan. She and her aunt picked us up from the train station. We said goodbye with that Argentina guy while Huahua directed him to the bus service to downtown area. He was indeed a lovely one ////

Our first stop started from Huahua's family house in Chaozhou. We almost met all of her family members. They are all so enthusiatics and humourous. Her grandma even cooked us real taiwanese style of food for lunch!! Delicious indeed!!

We left her family house in 3.30pm and go to her house in Gaoshiong city. After the harsh day of traveling, I almost slept death that evening. We were called up for dinner at her aunt house nearby. Another typical taiwanese meal, with the famous Gingered Duck and Minced pork with rice.Very tasty and homely. It is always nice to have homecooked food ~~

Day2 - Gaoshiong - Tainan

We woke up early that morning, prep ourselves and travel to tainan with Hua
hua family. Its a day full with food again!

We started our breakfast with 'Bak wan', fist size meatball in a breakfast shop on a way to tainan. There's also 'Mi gao', we known as glutinous rice in Msia, and meatball soup. Breakfast itself its like a huge challenge for me already. I dont eat this much usually, but huahua cousin brother say it might be once and only chance to taste this , oh well, i am definitely stuffing myself for the day!!!

After the breakfast we go for ice. We parked a few street across the shop and walked to the shop. We definitely need some exercise before another meal in! We shared 2 types of ice, Fruit ice and honey lemon ice, toufufa. Quite refreshing indeed.

We drop by a bakery for huahua's aunt to buy some biscuits. It is the first time i ever taste so different texture of biscuits. Some soft like cake but its biscuits, some harder than usual biscuits. I liked the one that look like macarons but not macarons. Its slightly sweet with butter cream in it.

While walking back to the car, we happened to pass by a icecream seller. The ice cream is made of yam and taste quite nice. It wasnt quite pleasant as we were force to buy 4 when we asked for only one.
=(

We went for the oyster roll for our lunch. Since i have mild seafood allergy, i didnt taste the oyster or prawns. But i had minced meat rice again, though i still prefered aunt's cooking//////.

Later on we went for taufufa again. This is quite a famous shop in Anping. We ordered 3 flavors, including original, greenbean, and redbean. I prefered the greenbean flavor, slightly sweeter than the others. I dont really eat taufufa in malaysia as i think it tasted weird, but i think Taiwan's taufufa tasted different and better than in msia.. i enjoyed this alot!~

We set back to gaoshiong after this as we were too full for any food anymore! We did dropby to packed some pudding and herbal egg too. This was the first time i had spicy herbal egg and it tasted ao awesome!!!! I havent yet taste the pudding we bought from Elate. It does look attractive but i am not sure if it taste as good~ We rested for a few hours at home and went to huahua aunt's house for dinner again. Well i can say she is a very good cook! Its very delicious that i just cant stop eating and bloated myself again!

Later that night we went 7-11, one of the must go destination! The 7-11 in malaysia is just so not how a convenient store should be. Though i would really like to have 'Guan dong zhu' and bento in 7-11 but i was too full to eat anything. The one thing i liked about here would be the points system to exchange for special merchandises. This season is onepiece pen. Since its randomly picked, i got Franky. but i liked brook more#/// will try again if i go 7-11 again~
